The Kortz Center Heist's finale includes a "Fast Laser" award, earned by crossing the laser field and interacting with the power box near the vault door within 30 seconds. Community testing found that using the Quick Restart option at any point during the finale run - even outside the laser room itself - permanently blocks the award from unlocking, even if the laser section is subsequently completed within the time limit. This is especially disruptive because Rockstar's own in-game guidance suggests using Quick Restart if the alarm is triggered or the 30-second limit is exceeded, meaning players following the game's own advice inadvertently lock themselves out of the award.
Steps to reproduce:
- Start the Kortz Center Heist finale.
- At any point in the run, use the Quick Restart option (whether triggered by tripping the alarm, exceeding the laser room's 30-second limit, or dying/restarting for any other reason).
- Continue the run and complete the laser room within the 30-second requirement.
- Observe that the Fast Laser award does not unlock, despite meeting the timing requirement.
Severity: Minor (cosmetic/collectible-progression issue — blocks an achievement-style award but has no impact on heist completion, payout, or core functionality; a full relaunch of the finale from scratch avoids it)

Workaround: Avoid Quick Restart entirely - if the alarm triggers or the timer runs out, quit and relaunch the heist finale from scratch instead of using Quick Restart.

Fixed versions: Not yet available - as of Rockstar's July 16, 2026 patch, the bug had not been addressed, and a background update dated July 17, 2026 also did not include a fix for it.
